---- — PLAISTOW — The Plaistow Public Library presents Jeff Snow: the Softer Side of Celtic, on Thurs., March 28, at 630 p.m.
After growing up in a home where Scottish folk songs were the everyday sounds, Jeff developed a love for Celtic music. His concerts feature guitar, autoharp, and Bouzouki. We hope you will join us for an evening of sharing stories, songs and tunes enriched by the history of Scotland, Ireland and England. Registration is requested, not required. All ages welcome.
Congratulations to two newly elected trustees, LuAnn Blair and James Peck, and alternate Jane Query. The responsibilities of the Board of Trustees are essential; policies made by trustees affect the atmosphere of the library and by extension the community. We also wish to extend gratitude to Jennifer Kiarsis, who ends sixteen years of service as Board member and then Chair, and Board alternates Scott Lane and Kathryn Morin. The library and community are affected by the generous commitment of past, present and future trustees.
The library has a new time management system on its public computers. New “Cassie” protocols include: Patrons now log in using their entire library card number. Guests sign in at the desk and are given a day pass login. Users may now “lock” their computers for short breaks to keep their place. To log out completely, users must hit “exit.” Those who wish to print may now see how many pages are in their print job and pay at the desk before printing. This cuts back on accidental printing and the waste of paper and ink. Stay tuned as we implement further benefits using Cassie.
Cribbage meets Wednesdays, 2:00-4:00 p.m.—come to the library to sharpen your cribbage skills and socialize! Snacks and drinks provided by Plaistow Recreation and the library.
