---- — HAMPSTEAD - The latest raffle basket offered by the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library is indeed a “reader’s delight”. The Third Thursday Book Discussion Group has donated this basket. It focuses on things that will make your reading more pleasurable.
To begin at the beginning, there are three books and a book on CD. A reading lamp will light the pages for you. Two gift cards from Barnes and Noble will enable you to expand your reading material. A blank book and pens give you the tools needed to make notes about what you’ve read and plan future reading choices. A plush throw will keep you warm as you settle in for a good read. There’s chocolate for nibbling and both cocoa and wine on which you may sip as you read. All in all, what reader could ask for more? It holds reading material and things to help you pursue your reading in comfort.
If you’d like to win this lovely basket please stop at the front desk of the library to buy your ticket. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. All proceeds from the raffle go to the Friends of the Library to use to support the library and its programs and activities. The winner will be drawn just before the “Lively Boys! Lively Boys!” presentation on April 9th. Tickets will be sold right up until the winner is drawn.
THRIFT SHOP CLOSED - The Hollyhock Thrift Shop sale has ended and the shop is now closed until Tues., April 2. Winter clothing is being removed to make room for spring and summer items. If you’d like to donate to the Thrift Shop, spring and summer clothing for men, women and children that is in good, clean, wearable condition may be brought in starting March 26th. Please don’t overload your bags of clothing so they are too heavy for the volunteers who staff the Thrift Shop to handle.
As is true of all Friends of the Library fund-raising activities, all monies raised at the Thrift Shop are used to support the library with things that are not covered in the annual budget from the town.
