---- — HAMPSTEAD - The Hampstead Public Library will have a “Getting Started with Cross Stitch” Workshop on Tues., February 26, at 1:00 p.m. Get to know this wonderful needlework art on a beginner’s level by stitching a project that will be completed in one session. Learn to center and begin your design, as well as how to stitch in different directions. All cross stitch materials will be provided. Please bring a small pair of scissors and a hands-free magnifier if you need one. If you are interested in participating, please sign-up at the library’s front desk, call 329-6411, or email jarden@hampstead.lib.nh.us.

CPR CLASS - CPR Certification Class will be offered at the Hampstead Public Library. There are two sessions available on Tues., March 5, and Tues., March 26; both classes will run from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. These classes are for anyone who is not a healthcare provider. It includes adult & child CPR, choking and AED training. The fee for this class is $40.00. Upon completion of this 2-hour class, participants will earn an American Heart Association 2 year CPR certification. Class space is limited. Advance registration and payment is required. MARCH MOVIE NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY - On Thurs., March 7, at 7:00 p.m., the Hampstead Public Library invites you to a free movie showing. We will screen the Ben Affleck film that has garnered several nominations and awards including the 2013 Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Drama. Inspired by actual events, this film tells the story of a 1980 joint CIA - Canadian secret operation in revolutionary Iran. When militants seize control of the US embassy in Tehran, CIA agent Tony Mendez (Affleck) creates a fake Hollywood film production to rescue six fugitive American diplomatic personnel. NONFICTION BOOK DISCUSSION - Books for the March meeting of the Non-Fiction Book Group at the Hampstead Public Library are now available for check out. Participants will discuss: “Perilous Fight: America’s Intrepid War with Britain on the High Seas 1812-1815” by Stephen Budiansky. The author examines the astounding performance of America’s fledgling Navy throughout the War of 1812 and explains how it established America as an international force to be reckoned with. The book discussion will be on Mon., March 18, at 7:00 p.m. Newcomers are welcome and encouraged to share ideas for future discussions.

THIRD THURSDAY BOOK DISCUSSION - Books for the March meeting of the Hampstead Public Library’s Third Thursday Afternoon Book Group are now available for check out. Participants will discuss: “Claude & Camille: a Novel of Monet” by Stephanie Cowen. This novel follows Monet to Paris where, as a young dreamer, he was intent on creating a new style of art. He encounters many obstacles like the criticism of his work, the war, and extreme poverty. The discussion of “Claude & Camille” is on March 21st at 1:00PM. Newcomers are always welcome.
