---- — KENSINGTON — National Take Your Child to the Library Day is February 2. This year we will be participating in this wonderful day geared towards children. This is a perfect day to bring your children in to get their library cards and check out some great books. We will have refreshments, crafts and a raffle for the new “Diary of a Wimpy Kid book…The Third Wheel” by Jeff Kinney! This day will also be the start of our monthly Saturday Story Time beginning at 10:30 a.m. Many of you are not able to attend our story time during the week, so we would love for you to attend this new program the first Saturday of every month. If you would like to attend, please contact us at 772-5022 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
February School Vacation Week: Call or visit our website to see what activities we have planned for your children (movie night, story hour, etc.).
E-Readers: Did you get an E-reader (kindle, Nook) or an I-PAD for the holidays? If so, we would be happy to help you borrow free e-books and audio books from NH Overdrive. You can do it from home…all you need is your Kensington Library number. Call or stop in if you need assistance.
Knitting: On Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 a.m. we will have morning knitting for those who want to bring their projects. Coffee, tea and muffins will be available.
Book Club: Our book club will meet once a month on a Tuesday night. In January we discussed the book “Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey”.
Museum Passes: Don’t forget to call and use our museum passes. Many allow you to enter free; others at a reduced rate. These are perfect ideas for February break! Passes include: Museum of Science and Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA; Currier Museum of Art and SEE Science Center, Manchester; and Children’s Museum, Dover.
Artist of the Month: Kensington is very fortunate to have so many talented, local artists. The Library would like to showcase their work and will be exhibiting them on a monthly rotation. Brittany Soucy is displaying her beautiful acrylic paintings in February. Please come in and enjoy the gifted talents of our town’s artists. If you are an artist who would like to exhibit your work, please let us know.
