HAMPSTEAD — On Sat., October 20, from 10:00a.m. to noon, the Hampstead Public Library will host a Colored Pencil Drawing Workshop. Area artist and teacher Ann Perkins will present the workshop. She will show how to achieve wonderful art by drawing with colored pencils. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, you are welcome. Those who attended Ann’s workshop at the library in May are welcome to return and continue their artistic efforts. Please bring your own paper and colored pencils. This workshop is for adults and for children, ages 13 and up. Sign-up at the library’s front desk: call 329-6411 or email programsHPL@gmail.com.

NEW TO MEDICARE WORKSHOP — On Wed., October 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., a representative from ServiceLink of Rockingham County will be at the Hampstead Public Library to answer questions about Medicare. Workshop topics include: understanding the basics of Medicare, prescription drug coverage, Medicare supplements, and preventing fraud. To register for this workshop, call the library at 603/329-6411.

SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SENIORS — On Thurs., October 18, at 9:45 a.m., a representative from ServiceLink Resource Center of Rockingham County will be at the Hampstead Public Library to present an overview of the organization and share how they can help families. ServiceLink is a source for information on aging, adult disabilities/chronic illness and family care-giving. They help families connect with services such as in-home help, Medicare and Medicaid, legal and financial assistance, plus wellness programs. This presentation is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

  • Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown, 66

    Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

  • Ted "Teddy" Bolduc

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
