HAMPSTEAD — Thurs., April 17 is free movie night at the Hampstead Public Library. At 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., we’ll be showing the new movie starring Tom Hanks as Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers, the author of “Mary Poppins”. The film depicts the author’s visit to Los Angeles in 1961 as she is pursued by Disney, in his attempts to obtain the screen rights to her novel. ARTISTS’ RECEPTION - Drop in at the Hampstead Public Library on Thurs., April 24, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., for an Artists’ Reception. Meet Sharon Morley and her students, who created the work on display in the library’s second floor meeting room. This is the last day of their exhibit, and your last chance to see these lovely landscapes, portraits and still life paintings.
MAGNETIC STORYTIME - “Imajinators” from the Imajine That educational play-space return to the Hampstead Public Library on Mon., May 5, at 10:00 a.m. They bring fun and learning with the theme “Magnetic Personality.” Children will explore the power of magnets with a variety of activities to test magnetic strength.
