HAMPSTEAD — After very successfully chairing the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library biennial Auction in 2011 and 2013, Ruth Paul finds it necessary to relinquish the job. Although November 2015 seems very far away today, the Friends need to find some one else to take over this job soon. It is necessary to secure a venue, start planning for any special activities and simply get acquainted with the position and the Friends of the Library. The Auction is a really great evening for the town as well as for the library but it doesn’t happen without a lot of very hard work ahead of time.

If you’re a go-getter who likes to interact with lots of different people and loves to organize things, please get in touch with President Marcia Blaine or former co-chair Linda Skidmore or any other member of the Friends’ Board. Ruth will be happy to work with you to introduce you to the Friends and the Auction if you decide to come aboard and work like a slave for several months to bring off an event that has become Hampstead’s event of the year in recent times. You may email Marcia at blaine22@comcast.net, Linda at skidmorelindaj@gmail.com, or reach the Friends at hampsteadfriends@gmail.com.

The Boston Bruins are well on their way to the NHL Playoffs once again and Milan Lucic has played a major role in getting them where they are today. The Friends of the Library have an autographed collage of photographs of Milan Lucic in action that they are raffling for the next couple of months. Raffle tickets are available at the front desk of the library at $1.00 each or six for $5.00. If you or anyone you know is a hockey fan this is your chance to take a chance on winning this autographed photo collage of Milan Lucic just in time for the playoffs. Stop in to the library to see the framed collage and get your raffle tickets soon.
