---- — KINGSTON — Join us at the library for two fantastically frightful Halloween events in one: The Halloween Candy Swap and Family Movie Night! Bring your extra Halloween Candy to the library to donate to Operation Gratitude. Candy will be sent in care packages to our troops overseas! Have your face painted by Kimberly Connell from the Painted Pineta! Make some fun Halloween crafts and a card for a soldier! Bring some food - take some food at the Potluck Dinner! All followed by a screening of ‘ParaNorman’, rated PG, to start at 5:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring a spooky potluck dish for dinner. Please contact Miss Sue at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up potluck dishes. All ages are welcome! Please note: The Halloween Party has been moved to Fri., November 1 at 4:30 p.m.
Bridging Cultures: Understanding the Middle East & What it Means Today, a series of presentations, film and book discussions guided by leading experts in the field on will be held on Thurs., October 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Ages 6-12 are invited to join Master Kelly from Alpha Tae-Kwon-Do and Fitness for a lesson in self-defense on Sat., October 26 at 12:00 p.m. Children will have a lesson in basic kicking, punching, stances, and self-defense. Master Kelly and five of her students will demonstrate these techniques and all participants will have a go at breaking a board! Bring a water bottle and wear loose clothes. Signup is required.
The Friends of the Library are excited to be selling Kingston Community T-shirts for $14.00 adults, $12.00 kids, and Imagine More reusable bags for $2.50 at the library. Stop in and make your purchase (the bags are a great way to transport your library books!).
