---- — HAMPSTEAD — Learn the art form of Zentangle® at the Hampstead Public Library on Sat., January 18, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. It is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It increases focus and creativity and provides artistic satisfaction. The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over the world across a wide range of skills and ages. MOVIE NIGHT AT LIBRARY - Tues., January 21 at 6:30 p.m. is free movie night at the Hampstead Public Library. The feature film is the SciFi thriller starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. Taking place in the year 2154, it is about a pristine space station called Elysium where the very wealthy live. The underprivileged people live on an overpopulated ruined Earth and are desperate to escape the planet’s crime and poverty. The only man with a chance to bring equality to these two worlds is Max (Damon). If he succeeds, he could save not only his own life but also millions of people on Earth. TEEN BOOK EXCHANGE PARTY - Middle school and high school students are invited to attend a Book Exchange Party at the Hampstead Public Library on Thurs., January 30 at 6:30 p.m. In addition to the book exchange, this event features crafts, trivia, and food. Participants should bring a gently used wrapped book. Stop by the library by Fri., January 24 to add your name to the guest list, and pick-up a bookplate you can personalize. TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE LIBRARY DAY - The Hampstead Public Library is having a special event, “Bring Your Child to the Library,” on Saturday, February 1, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Come discover all the library has to offer: books, movies, a telescope, puppet playhouse, interactive wall art, craft station and more. There will be food and activities throughout the day, plus raffles! In addition, anyone who gets their first library card will be entered in a special drawing. NEW ART EXHIBIT AT LIBRARY- The Hampstead Public Library is pleased to be exhibiting the work of local artist, John LeCours, now through February 24, in the second floor meeting room. LeCours is a Danville resident who paints in oil and acrylic. He takes his inspiration from the natural world with raw landscapes as well as impressionistic pieces. The public is welcome to drop in anytime and view the work as long as there is not a private meeting occurring in the room. Call the library in advance if you have questions, 603-329-6411.
