PLAISTOW — Then Plaistow Public Library will be closed Mon., January 20, for Civil Rights Day.
Visit the library during the month of January to see a unique Pie Plate display in the horizontal glass cases, courtesy of Oscar Fortin. The pie plates represent several decades and are quite interesting. The library walls will display the artwork of the students of local artist Susan Kneeland.
Slumber Storytimes continue on Thursdays from 6:00-6:45 p.m. Come in your pajamas and bring your blanket. Registration is required and this event is for all Plaistow Library cardholders.
Crafty Kids (ages 4-12) will be held Sat., January 11, drop in anytime from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration is required. This event is open to Plaistow Library cardholders.
Come Make Your Own Friendship Bracelet with Miss Cara on Tues., January 14, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. This fun and colorful activity is suggested for ages 9 and up. Registration is required and is for Plaistow Library cardholders.
Card Making with Colleen Ferranto will be held on Thurs., January 16, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. The demonstration will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and the class is limited to adults only. You will make eight cards; materials fee is $15.00. Please bring your own adhesive and scissors.
January is National Soup Month. Come by the library to check out cookbooks for some new soup recipes to try out. Our cookbook collection includes slow-cooker/crock pot, vegetarian, gluten free, and many other options.
Fun Trivia: January is also National Braille Literacy Month and National Hobby Month. The birthstone of January is the garnet, which represents constancy.
