PLAISTOW - Visit the library during the month of January to see a unique Pie Plate display in the horizontal glass cases, courtesy of Oscar Fortin. The pie plates represent several decades and are quite interesting. The library walls will display the artwork of the students of local artist Susan Kneeland.
The library’s ongoing cribbage and bridge matches meet on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. Come and play a game with friends. Children may enjoy Friday afternoon LEGOs and Wii starting at 1:00 p.m. Build with our large LEGO collection or challenge yourself to a game of Wii. No registration is required.
January 2 begins our New Year of Slumber Storytimes. These will be held on Thursdays 6:00-6:45 p.m. Come in your pajamas and bring your blanket. Registration is required and this event is for all Plaistow Library card holders.
Book Group will be having a Book Talk with the Staff: 15 Books in 15 Minutes! Join Kelli, Anita, and Raven as they discuss their five favorite books for five minutes each. Please bring a favorite book to discuss with the group. This event will be Wed., January 8, 10:30 -11:30 a.m.
Crochet for Kids will be held January 8 from 4:00-5:00 p.m., and will meet every other week. Come learn to crochet with Miss Jessica. Recommended ages are 5-10 and materials are provided. Attending parent(s) can learn as well!
Crafty Kids will be January 11 from 9:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m., on a drop in basis. Recommended ages are 4-12 and registration is required. This event is open to Plaistow Library card holders.
Come Make Your Own Friendship Bracelet with Miss Cara on January 14 from 6:00-7:00pm.This fun and colorful activity is suggested for ages 9 and up. Registration is required.
January is National Soup Month. Come by the library to check out cookbooks for some new soup recipes to try out. Our cookbook collection includes slow-cooker/crock pot, vegetarian, gluten free, and many other options.
