---- — EXETER - “Seeing in the New Year”, the Exeter Public Library will exhibit the “metamorphic” photographic art of David Booth. “At sixteen, my father gave me my first Nikon FM camera. I carried that Nikon and rolls of Kodak Kodachrome film around the globe, to exotic locale to include the Hawaiian Islands, the Philippines, Africa and Australia.” Now, however, David is traveling the path of digital photography.
“The art of pencil drawing taught me to observe the small details.” Often when photographing a location the entire landscape is the subject. David searches for the “hidden subjects”. “I am always trying to give the observer of my art, more…by photographing less.”
This exhibit will showcase “South Beach Miami”. Each of the ten Giclee prints on canvas began as a digital photograph which was manipulated with light, color and texture. Once printed, the canvas is treated with a sizing material and a UV inhibitor to protect each image. “Hopefully something you see in my show will invoke thoughts of some place warm.”
David Booth’s art will be on display in the Adult Services section of the library throughout the months of January and February. If the gray skies of winter are giving you the blues, come view some images of South Beach Miami! The Exeter Public Library is located in scenic downtown Exeter, at 4 Chestnut Street.
