---- — KINGSTON — Kids ages 7 and up are invited to the LEGO Challenge Club on Fri., January 10 and 24, from 4:00–5:30 p.m. Participants will test their creativity and ingenuity to win prizes! Or just stop in and have fun!

Start a reading tradition with your daughter with a Mother-Daughter Book Club (grades 4-8). Come discuss the book “City of Ember” by Jeanne DuPrau on Tues., January 14, 6:00 p.m. in the Teen Room. Miss Sue will serve snacks and refreshments, and book-talk a few titles for the March meeting. Books for the February meeting will be available for pickup. Stop by the library to pick up a copy of “City of Ember” today!

Don’t miss the a film viewing and discussion of “Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World”, an epic journey across nine countries and over 1,400 years of history on Thurs., January 23 at 2:00 p.m. Professors Jonathan Bloom and Sheila Blair of Virginia Commonwealth University will lead this film discussion touching on themes such as Word, Space, Ornament, Color and Water, as well as the stories behind many great masterworks of Islamic Art and Architecture.
