NH Button Collectors will be on hand to talk about their hobby, button collecting. They collect clothing buttons; mostly antique, but new buttons as well. Buttons are miniature works of art that vary in size, shape, and material. ‘We often get a strange look from people when we talk about our hobby, but imagine having a button in your collection that was worn by a soldier in the Civil War, or from a firefighter who was at the World Trade Center on September 11. These buttons are not much to look at, but holding that much history in your hand is an amazing thing,’ says Cheryl Killam, button collector. Join us on Wed., March 12, at 6:30 p.m., and meet Cheryl and see some buttons that have traveled great lengths.
