---- — PLAISTOW — Visit the Plaistow Public Library during the month of February to see the artwork of award winning local artist Jim Collins. The paintings represent all kinds of wildlife and are quite stunning to see. Jim’s work has been featured many times over on conservation stamps for the State of NH. We will also have on display a rather eclectic collection of rubber ducks, courtesy of Nancy Burke.

Come see our new Giant Bookworm! He needs a name and Miss Cara invites the kids to submit names to name him. He’s the biggest in the world – we think!

The Book Group will be reading “Until Tuesday” by Luis Carlos Montalvan in preparation for our discussion on Wed., March 12. Come by the library in advance for your copy of this heartwarming book. As an added bonus, we will be having the author visit with Tuesday on Sun., April 27 at 2:00 p.m. Mark your calendars now!

The Friends of the Library meets on Mon., February 24, from 6:30–8:00 p.m. Come on by to see what this dynamic group does to help support our library. New members are always welcome!

February 25 is the Fun Fiction Book Club for Plaistow patrons in Grades 5-8. This book club runs from January to April and meets once a month for discussion and activities. The program runs from 6:00-7:00pm. This month’s book is “The Maze Runner” by James Dashner. Come by the library for a copy of the book. Registration is required and is for Plaistow Library cardholders.

Winter School Break Activities are quite fun and exciting. Mon., February 24 is Giant Game Day here at the library. The Giant Game Company will have their Giant Jenga, Giant Checkers, and Giant Connect 4 here for you to play with from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. On February 25, we will have the Balloon Animal Bonanza at 10:00 a.m. and then we will be showing the movie “Despicable Me 2” from 2:00–4:00 p.m. Wed., February 26, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. we will have a performance from the award winning Keith Munslow, who is a musician that combines music, storytelling, visual art, and improvisation.

Did you know we have a book sale going on inside the library? It is located in the Periodicals section and covers adult fiction/nonfiction, kids fiction/nonfiction, and various media, including music. The selection is always changing, so come down to check it out. Proceeds benefit the library.

The library has the following IRS Tax Forms and Instructions available for pickup: Form 1040, Form 1040 A, Form 1040 EZ (for Single and Joint Filers With No Dependents), Form 1040 X (Amended U.S. Individual), Form 1040 SCH EIC (Earned Income Credit), Form 1040 SCH 8812 (Child Tax Credit), Form 2106 (Employee Business Expenses).
