Summer Reading at KPL

KENSINGTON —Registration for “Dig Into Reading” Summer Reading Program at Kensington Public Library has begun!

The Kickoff is on Tues., July 9 with an event by Michelle’s Menagerie Animal Show at 6:00 p.m. The theme of the show will be Woodland Wonders. In this program the children learn about life cycles, and how animals survive during the cold winter months. She will talk about mammals and amphibians hibernating, reptiles brumating, and birds migrating. The eight animals featured in this program are: ducks, frogs, rabbits, quail, skunks, snakes, toads, and turtles. The event will be held next door to the library at the Kensington Elementary School.

There will be five Tuesday evening events including “Dig Into Dinosaurs” presented by the Museum of Science, a pirate treasure hunt, painting and planting your own flower pot and “Dig up Dessert.”

Teens can register for a “bingo card” and for every square they complete are eligible for a drawing for prizes.

Adults receive a raffle ticket for every book they check out and there will be weekly drawings for prizes.
