HAMPSTEAD – There will be a free chair yoga class at the Hampstead Public Library on Tues., November 6, from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. This monthly class features non-impact exercises that are beneficial for men and women, teens and adults. Participants move at their own pace, sitting, standing, or using a chair for support. The instructor is Maggie Morgan from the Yoga Room in Hampstead.

BOOK DISCUSSION& AUTHOR VISIT - On November 15th at 1:00 p.m., the Third Thursday Book Group of the Hampstead Public Library will be discussing “Vie De France: Sharing Food, Friendship, and a Kitchen in the Loire Valley” by James Haller. As a special treat, the group will welcome the author to their meeting. Haller is an award-winning chef and former owner of the Portsmouth restaurant Blue Strawbery. He wrote this book following his experiences in France where he shared a house with friends for a month. In addition to travel tales, “Vie de France” features dozens of recipes. A limited number of copies of the book are available at the library’s front desk. Newcomers are welcome to the meeting.

NONFICTION BOOK DISCUSSION - On November 19th at 7:00 p.m., the Non-Fiction Book Group at the Hampstead Public Library will be discussing “Looking for Alaska” by Peter Jenkins. This book is memoirist Jenkins’ account of the eighteen months he spent traveling over 20,000 miles on the Alaska Marine Highway and Haul Road. It is an unforgettable depiction of a dangerous and beautiful land and the people who call it home. Copies of the book are available at the library’s front desk. Newcomers are welcome, and are encouraged to come and help choose further books for the group to read and discuss.

  • Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown, 66

    Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

  • Ted "Teddy" Bolduc

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
