Colby Library News

DANVILLE — Great news, everyone! The boiled dinners, the clothing adorned with lucky clovers, and the flowing of green-dyed, domestic pilsners do not have to end on March 17! Join us on Sat., March 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as we host acclaimed author Cynthia G. Neale for a very special, very Irish Author’s Visit and book signing. Cynthia G. Neale, author of “The Irish Dresser: A Story of Hope During The Great Hunger, and Hope In New York City: The Continuing Story of The Irish Dresser”, will be with us in the Library to discuss her passion for writing and to sign copies of her books. This is a free event that is open to all members of the public. Refreshments will be served, but no corned beef or soda bread. Space is limited, so come early!

Be sure to join us on Sat., March 30, for an Easter StoryTime at 11:00 a.m. with a special guest appearance by the Easter Bunny! We will be sharing Easter stories, making Easter crafts, and all who attend can participate in an outdoor Easter egg hunt! Bring your cameras and your biggest smiles, as this will surely be a fantastic family event! Call us or stop by the Library to register your children, so that we can get enough supplies!

StoryTimes this week will be on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Call to register.

The Knitters & Handcrafters group will meet on Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Children’s Room. New members are always welcome and we will give you all the supplies you need to get started!

The Mystery & Suspense Book Club will meet on Thurs., April 4 at 7:00 p.m., to discuss Kathy Reich’s “Death Du Jour”. Copies are still available at the Library and all are welcome to join. We will be bringing menus from local restaurants for takeout, because if there’s anything we like more than books, it’s food!

For more information, call 603-382-6733.
