'Baskets for Books'

EXETER — This March, a dinner and raffle will help the Exeter Public Library “turn the page” towards a new future for the library. Called “Baskets for Books” and co-hosted with RiverWoods at Exeter, the event is scheduled for Fri., March 22. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. at RiverWoods on the Woods Campus, 7 Riverwoods Drive. The evening includes dinner, drinks and a raffle of themed gift baskets; proceeds benefit the library’s future building revitalization project. Tickets are $35.00 each; tables of eight can be purchased for $280. Tickets may be purchased by mail or in person at the Exeter Public Library Adult Services Desk, 4 Chestnut Street, 772-3101. Cash or checks only will be accepted.

“We hope that ‘Baskets for Books’ will help usher in a new era for the Exeter Public Library,” says Mary LaFreniere, a member of the library’s Board of Trustees and an organizer of the event. “The event evolved out of our long-range planning process to build visibility for the library and raise money to support plans for revitalizing our building.”

More than fifty themed gift baskets, containing items contributed by area businesses and individuals, will be auctioned off to guests during the evening. Guests can purchase raffle tickets at the dinner; tickets are $1.00 each, $5.00 for six, $10.00 for 12, or $20.00 for 30.

    Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

  • Ted "Teddy" Bolduc

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
