(Continued)

FOOD FOR FINES - March is “Food for Fines” month at the Hampstead Public Library. If you incur a library fee during the month of March 2013, you can bring in non-perishable foods, toiletries, or paper goods and we will forgive your fine. Simply bring in your donation with your overdue items, and like magic, your fine will disappear. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you helped the food pantry, which is very much in need of donations. The library will give all donated goods to the Hampstead Ecumenical Food Pantry located at St. Anne’s Church.

NONFICTION GROUP - On Mon., April 15 at 7:00 p.m.,, the Non-Fiction Book Group at the Hampstead Public Library will be discussing “Light this Candle: The Life & Times of Alan Shepard, America’s First Spaceman” by Neal Thompson. Alan Shepard was part of the original Mercury Seven astronauts at NASA and he was regarded by many to be the best. The man who hit a golf ball on the moon was among the most private of public figures. Join us in reading this candid account of a bold American life. Copies of the book are available at the library’s front desk. Newcomers are always welcome to the meetings.
