HAMPSTEAD - Are you a fan of knitwear? Do you love to knit? The Hampstead Public Library has an event for you! On Sat., March 23, at 1:30 p.m., the library is pleased to welcome Alasdair Post-Quinn, knitwear designer and author of “Extreme Double-Knitting.” Alasdair will discuss how he developed his techniques, which create fabric with no wrong side. He will talk about the progression of double-knitting methods, from the basics to the more advanced. Come see samples of his work and learn how he pushes traditional boundaries to include more complex color and structure. Copies of “Extreme Double Knitting” and Alasdair’s patterns will be available to purchase. This event is free and open to the public.
CPR CLASS - CPR Certification Class will be offered at the Hampstead Public Library on Tues., March 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This class is for anyone who is not a healthcare provider. RESERVING MUSEUM PASSES - Reserving a museum pass with the Hampstead Public Library just got easier! Library patrons can now reserve museum passes from home. Go to our website, www.HampsteadLibrary.org, and in the upper right box on the homepage click on the Museum Pass/Tixkeeper button. This takes you to the pass reservation system. Choose the museum you want to visit and the date you wish to visit. If it is available, click on the blue “Request Pass” button. Follow the further prompts, enter your library card number and make your reservation. Three important things to remember: 1) you must still pick up your pass at the library during regular library hours; 2) museum passes are day specific, so reserve the day you will go to the museum; and 3) you must be a Hampstead Public Library cardholder to borrow a pass. If you do not wish to use this new online reservation system, you can still call 603/329
