Lions Says “Thank You”

Carriage Towne News

---- — The Plaistow Lions Club held a $1.00 Thank You Pancake Breakfast on January 27, at the Plaistow Fish and Game Club on May Ray Avenue. It was to serve as a method of saying thank you for the help and support throughout the years by the great residents of Plaistow.

This idea was the brainchild of Chairman Paul Waring. Although it was just a small token of appreciation, it once again reinforced the great sense of community that still thrives in the Town of Plaistow. He and his crew of twenty-one Lions served over 300 people in three hours. It was a wonderful time see old friends and to enjoy delicious pancakes, sausages and “The Best Eggs in Town”.

Throughout the years the Plaistow Lions Club has been able to provide help to many residents in town with holiday food baskets for needy families, emergency on call devices for the elderly, fulfillment of Christmas wishes for children, the gift of sight by providing eye glasses for patients who were unable to afford them, just to name a few of our very worthy projects. Although the Lions have been willing to help in anyway the Town of Plaistow and the residents of the town need us to, it is evident that without the support and participation for the residents of Plaistow, we be limited on the extent to which we could help.

Whether it is support financially though our various fundraisers, the amazing generosity every Christmas from the various giving trees around town or the overwhelming participation at our food drives a couple times a year, the support of the Plaistow community is essential to what the Lions Club does.

Thank you to everyone who braved the frigid temperatures to come out and eat a home cooked meal. We hope to be able to make this an annual event in the future. From the bottom of their hearts, the members of the Plaistow Lions Club say Thank You!
