The Friends of the Kingston Community Library would like to thank everyone who supported their annual Plant Sale on May 17. Fortunately the weather turned glorious after a damp start.
Many local businesses donated items to the garden-themed raffle, including White Cedar Farm, The Green Griffin, Magnusson Farms, and Gourmet Gift Baskets, all in Kingston, Wellington Gardens and Granite Creek Farms in Brentwood, Newton Greenhouse in Newton, Dodge’s Agway in Plaistow, and Churchill’s Gardens in Exeter. Their generosity made for a number of happy winners! The Friends also appreciated all the plants community members donated to the sale, as well as residents who placed plant sale signs in their yards.
Funds from the sale and raffle help support the extensive and ongoing landscaping around the library, including the herb garden, the roadside planting, the butterfly garden, and a variety of shrubs, trees and perennials along the fence. The Friends plan to offer programs incorporating many of the plants found on the library grounds.
