Thanks to the Volunteers

Thanks to the Volunteers

As president of the Kingston Lake Association, I want to give a great big Thank You to the thirty+ volunteers who showed up on May 18, to help with the clean up in the Kinston State Park. KLA organized this service project as part of the Adopt a Park Program for the Kingston State Park. Many KLA members and friends from the community joined together to work in the Park.

Tasks accomplished included: clean up along the water’s edge of leaves, pine needles and other debris, raking and picking up of leaves and pine needles in the picnic area in the pine grove. Several trucks and tractors were volunteered for the clean up. Over 200 volunteer work hours were accomplished with 30+ volunteers. David Richardson, the Park Manager, was very pleased with our efforts.

Kingston State Park is important to our lake, KLA, and the community. KLA’s mission is to protect and preserve the water quality of Kingston Lake and the surrounding watershed areas. Our motto is to Protect, Preserve and Participate. The Park is an important resource in our community. Every day it is used in all seasons. It is free from Labor Day to Memorial Day to all of us; and free week days to Kingston residents during the Park Hours in the summer. If you haven’t visited Kingston State Park, you are missing out. It is a beautiful, quiet spot to walk, jog and bike.

If you are interested in KLA and its activities, look at our website at www.kingstonlakenh.com.

Muriel Ingalls

President KLA
