Walt Havenstein for Governor

Walt Havenstein for Governor

I recently had the opportunity to listen to Walt Havenstein, GOP candidate for governor. The impression he left with me was that of a leader, decision maker, and one with a significant track record of results. He has been the CEO of large organizations including BAE systems the largest in New Hampshire. Being successful in that sort of position requires working with and through others to get results. Establishing a budget and the financial structure to support the anticipated revenue and expense.

I’m sure Gov. Hassan is a nice person however submitting an inflated budget requiring the existence of the casino for the revenue in it was naïve at best. Her budget resulted in a bipartisan rejection in both the House and Senate.

Instead of a casino for the revenue Mr. Havenstein suggests that Rockingham Park could become a center for entrepreneurial high tech companies. Think of it as Pease on the MA boarder! The thing about the suggestion is it is not just words, creating small spin off companies is something as the head of BAE systems Mr. Havenstein did many times.

I believe he is the leader that will make NH financially strong, work with and through others to make sure New Hampshire again begins to grow and attract industry.
