Being a long time, and frequent, user of Colby Library in Danville, I wanted to take this opportunity to say what a great job the people that work there do. Always friendly, professional, and extremely helpful, they offer a wide variety of programs that can be participated in at the library or at home on your computer. Their ability to search other libraries for books that they currently do not have has been a time and money saver.
So, with the above being said I was quite surprised when I was informed by a friend that it had been suggested that the library be shut down to save money. I had to check around to see if this was accurate. It was. It had me wondering where were the caves in Danville? Because certainly this person must’ve crawled out of one of them. I would hope that this is an idea that the people of Danville would not get behind. Colby Library is so closely tied to education and it’s so important to the town that I should hope the people of Danville would use it even more and support it to a greater degree. We need what they provide.
