In the wake of the tragedy in CT, before the families could even mourn their loss, the anti gun crowd started their unrelenting screams for further gun restrictions. Too many have jumped on board.
I think a bit of fact; truth, and soul searching are in order.
We do not have a gun problem in America, we have a morality problem. We have those asking, where was God? Well, if we each remember God is not allowed in schools: and He forces Himself on no one. Each of these very tragic incidents has happened in “no gun” zones, or areas with heavy gun control. Actually a person has a higher risk of being shot in DC (No guns) than a soldier does of being killed in Afghanistan. Do you think something like this would happen at a Gun Show or a firing range? Rwanda, mass genocide of well over a million innocent people: were guns used ? No… machetes and hate enabled by a complicit media, is all that was needed. China: again no guns; knife and axe wielding nuts have attacked schools and killed children in numerous similar tragedies. A plane controlled by box cutter wielding fanatics killed over 4,000 on 9/11/01. Evil will find a way to commit that evil by whatever means are available.
The worst mass murders have been committed by governments which had disarmed the citizens: Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao (a favorite of the left) to name a few. Most interesting is the poster children for gun control, have armed body guards to protect them: It’s just you and me “Joe Citizen” they want unarmed. Heck, the government just flooded Mexico with guns, intentionally arming drug cartels, killing a border agent, and those criminals are (still) running our Country. I trust my neighbor with a gun more than I do the government.
As I said in the beginning, we have a morality issue in America, not a gun issue. It is time we as a Nation get back to basics. They have worked to destroy the family and succeeded. How many children are born out of wedlock...I believe 42%. Young women believe the rest of us should pay for their “truck load” of contraceptives, people want their “free stuff”, and everything else as long as “someone” else pays for it. We consider everything that is “smut” and harmful to our children to be protected as “free speech”, but one cannot mention Jesus in a Military Chapel.
I see 12 year olds dressed like 20 year olds. Video games that promote rape, theft and murder, movies and commercials and magazines promote sex. A Democratic Party convention that voted against God three times and then “booed” when He was placed back in their Platform. Where is the promotion of family time, manners, respect, graciousness, and pride in personal achievement? Everyone wants to promote “we all win”; there are no “rights or wrong” as everything is “relative”.
How many children can even state the Ten Commandments, or know what they are? It is time to shut off “Housewives of NJ” and take a reality check on who we are as a people, and who we want to be as a Nation. Blaming gun rights for these tragedies is like blaming a spoon for obesity.
“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”: not hard to understand, the government has zero legal authority to ban guns or restrict the ownership of, only tyranny can do that. I choose not to relinquish freedom for some utopian allusion of safety.
