I am writing to whole-heartedly endorse Dennis Brady for Exeter Selectman.
Dennis served a commissioned officer in the U.S. Coast Guard for 11 years. Upon leaving the Coast Guard, Dennis spent 30 years in the manufacturing sector where he continued to demonstrate his leadership abilities, rising to the level of plant manager. As a plant manager, he learned full well about living within budgets and making do when his budget was cut. As a manufacturing plant manager, Dennis learned that you have to evaluate alternatives and not just ask for the latest new piece of equipment.
Through his commitment to public service, Dennis has shown that he cares deeply about people, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, tutoring math at the county jail and as a volunteer at Exeter Hospital. He has also learned first-hand of the struggles of our senior citizens and those living on fixed incomes as a member of the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels.
Faced with property taxes that have increased an average of 9 percent per year for the past five years, and facing the prospect of a $40 million dollar wastewater treatment plant, Exeter needs someone like Dennis to help find ways to live within our means.
There is a certain fringe political group in town that tries to control all that happens in town. They disregard the laws and adopted policies and procedures and stack the town boards and committees with their followers, and so far, they have been rather successful. We need to have officials that will work for the good of the taxpayers and not to further their ideological goals.
Dennis is definitely a nonpartisan candidate who believes in fiscal responsibility and good management practices. He has a keen analytical mind and, while he and I may not agree on every issue that comes before the Board, I know that he will thoroughly research and analyze each issue that comes before him as a selectman and will be well prepared for each Selectmen’s meeting.
I ask you to please join me and vote for Dennis Brady for Exeter Selectman on March 12th.
