Martial Arts Helps Children

Martial Arts Helps Children

As the parent of a child with special needs, I am always looking for activities directed by people who are sensitive to the needs of a child with disabilities. I have found this in Tri-City Martial Arts.

Mr. Megan, the owner and instructor, is simply amazing with all the children but especially with my son. Mr. Megan has a gentle authority that resonates with both kids and adults. Lessons are not only Tang Su Do instruction but also include strengthening self-esteem and life lessons. For example, my son is now tying his own shoes; we had been working on this for two years, and Mr. Megan had him doing it within two weeks.

The classes are at the Brentwood Recreation Center on Monday and Friday nights, and the price is affordable. Anyone would benefit from these classes, but if you are a parent of a child with special needs you know how nerve wracking it is to find a place you feel is safe for your child. Tri-City Martial Arts is the place.

In the six months my son has been attending Tri-City Martial Arts his self-esteem has blossomed. He is doing more things for himself and asking for help when he needs it instead of having a meltdown. Thank you Mr. Megan for your wonderful class!
