Article 7, to Rescind Senate Bill 2, failed in both communities. This article required a 3/5 majority vote to pass, but failed to even gain a simple majority. The vote in Kingston was 190 in favor and 461 against while the vote in Newton was 214 in favor and 650 against. The overall tally was 404 in favor and 1111 against.
And finally, Article 8, regarding the Tax cap, also failed in both communities. This article also required a 3/5 majority vote to pass, but failed to receive even a simple majority. The vote in Kingston was 330 in favor and 340 against. In Newton, the vote was 391 in favor and 470 against. The total tally was 721 in favor and 810 against.
