Walmart Opened with Cheers

Larry Kennedy

The Grand Re-Opening of the Super Walmart at Epping Crossing, 35 Fresh River Road in Epping , was celebrated with cheers and tears. Local shoppers were treated to a glimpse of the company’s next generation store design and true customer experience, following a three-month remodeling project. You’re invited to check out the many improvements including a new layout, wider aisles, low-profile shelving, bright interior paint scheme, enhanced lighting and much more. Store manager Scott Quinney presented awards to his employees as well as a total of $12,000 in Walmart Foundation grants to local service organizations. Top photo are, from left, Sharon Harvey, Epping Recreation ($1,000); Jen Yergeau, Epping Food Pantry ($3,000); Robert Ortins, Chairman Exeter Chamber of Commerce; Biz Corrow, Exeter Chamber Children’s Fund; Karen Drapaniotis, Exeter Chamber Children’s Fund ($2,000); Mike Schidlovsky, President of Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce; Walmart Store Manager Scott Quinney; Phillis McDonough, Town of Epping ($3,000); Mark Vallone, Principal of Epping Elementary School ($1,000); Cherul MacLeay, Epping Elementary Administrative Assistant; Epping Police Officer Mike Wallace representing the Epping Police Department ($1,000); and Epping Firefighter Bruce Chapman representing Epping Fire Department ($1,000). Walmart Store 3535 was dedicated to former popular and long time greeter Dottie Bretton, who recently passed away. A picture of Dottie was displayed and held by Mr. Quinney.
