Chamber Concert

PORTSMOUTH - Trio Cleonice, comprised of violin, cello and piano, will play on Sun., October 27, at 3:00 p.m., at St. John’s Episcopal Church as part of the Historic Portsmouth Chamber Music series. This concert is the last of four concerts in the series, which is produced by the Portsmouth Athenaeum in collaboration with the Portsmouth Historic Houses Association. A $20.00 at-the-door donation is suggested.

New England Conservatory’s graduate trio-in-residence, Trio Cleonice returns to Portsmouth this year as one of the 2013 finalist ensembles in the prestigious Fischoff Competition. Violinist Ari Isaacman-Beck, cellist Gwen Krosnick and pianist Emely Phelps will present a program that includes Mozart’s Piano Trio in B-Flat Major, Antonin Dvorak’s Piano Trio No. 4 in e minor, Op. 90 “Dumky,” and Richard Vernick’s, Piano Trio No. 2, “The Traits of Messina,” a piece written for the Trio Cleonice in 2012.

  • Successful Car Show/Pig Roast

    The Activities Committee from American Legion Post 51 in Epping donated the proceeds from their Annual Car Show and Pig Roast held on May 17 to the New Hampshire Association for the Blind. The Association is the statewide leader in providing vision rehabilitation services for NH people of all ages who are blind and visually impaired. Junior Vice Commander Rick Pelletier is presenting the $1,400 check to Mary Chase. A big thank you to all who volunteered their time to make the day a success.
