Civil War Saturday

HAMPTON - A free event titled, Civil War Saturday, will be held on the Tuck Museum grounds on Sat., April 27, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m., featuring living history presenters to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War.

Demonstrations, exhibits, children’s activities and a Quilt Raffle will take place. Authentic letters of Lieutenant Simon Lamprey along with his trunk, his sword, sash and the wooden headboard from the Virginia cemetery where he was first buried in 1864 will be displayed. The afternoon will end with a homestyle Bean Supper for $5.00

A new soft cover book, written by Eleanor Becotte, “Answering the Call: Hampton N.H. in the American Civil War 1861-1865”, will be offered for sale for $15.00.

  • Successful Car Show/Pig Roast

    The Activities Committee from American Legion Post 51 in Epping donated the proceeds from their Annual Car Show and Pig Roast held on May 17 to the New Hampshire Association for the Blind. The Association is the statewide leader in providing vision rehabilitation services for NH people of all ages who are blind and visually impaired. Junior Vice Commander Rick Pelletier is presenting the $1,400 check to Mary Chase. A big thank you to all who volunteered their time to make the day a success.
