Road Race

ATKINSON – The 36th Annual Atkinson Road Race will be held on Thursday evening, August 29. The cost is only $15.00 for post-entrants.

The race starts promptly at 6:00 p.m., from Woodlock Recreation Area (Pope Field). At 5:45 p.m., there is a kid’s ½ mile fun run (free) for those 11 and under. There are numerous age groups from Under 14 to 70+, hot dogs, fruit, deserts, merchandise prizes, and a large raffle. Pre-entries must be mailed by August 23 and the first 200 entrants receive long sleeve T-shirts.

Applications are available at the Atkinson Library, Atkinson Village Store, and Hampstead Health & Fitness.   • Successful Car Show/Pig Roast

    The Activities Committee from American Legion Post 51 in Epping donated the proceeds from their Annual Car Show and Pig Roast held on May 17 to the New Hampshire Association for the Blind. The Association is the statewide leader in providing vision rehabilitation services for NH people of all ages who are blind and visually impaired. Junior Vice Commander Rick Pelletier is presenting the $1,400 check to Mary Chase. A big thank you to all who volunteered their time to make the day a success.
