'Arsenic and Old Lace'

HAVERHILL, MA - When is a simple glass of elderberry wine not so simple, when it is served up by the maniacal Brewster sisters in “Arsenic and Old Lace,” which will be presented by Northern Essex Community College’s Top Notch Players on November 9 and 10, at 7:30 p.m., and November 8 at 4:00 p.m., in the Chester W. Hawrylciw Theater on the third floor of the Spurk Building on the Haverhill campus.

This adaptation will be directed by NECC students Brianne Beatrice of Marblehead, MA.

This classic comedy follows the antics of the murderous Brewster family. Written by Joseph Kesselring, this play gained notoriety when it was adapted for film featuring Cary Grant.

Tickets are available at the door the day of the play or at www.MVArts.info. General admission is $10.00, and $8.00 for students and senior citizens. For further information, contact Susan Sanders at 978-556-3374.

The cast includes: Samantha Wheatley of Hampstead as Elaine Harper, Alex Spinelli of Plaistow as Mortimer Brewster, and Matt Lundergan of Raymond as Mr. Gibbs.

    Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
