Foxwoods Trip

KENSINGTON — The Kensington American Legion Auxiliary will host a trip to Foxwoods on Thurs., April 18.

The bus leaves from the Kensington American Legion parking lot on Route 150 at 6:45 a.m. to arrive at Foxwoods at approximately 9:00 a.m. The bus will leave Foxwoods at 5:30 p.m., and will arrive home about 7:30 p.m.

Play bingo on the trip down and enjoy a raffle of $25.00 worth of scratch tickets. On the trip home, watch a movie and have a snack.

The cost is $35.00 per person. On arrival you will receive a ticket for a free buffet(value $18.00) or $10.00 food ticket and $10.00 in Keno from Foxwoods. Proceeds from the trip go to support Children and Youth. The trip is sponsored by the Kensington American Legion Aux. Unit 105 located on Rt. 150 in Kensington.

    Sandown, NH — Jo Ann (Phelps) Hughes of Sandown, New Hampshire passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, surrounded by all of her children at home. She was born in Little Bend Kentucky, to Beatrice (Shepherd) Phelps and John (Cat) Phelps in 1934. Jo Ann was predeceased by brothers, Marcus Phelps, Johnny Phelps, Forrest Phelps and sisters, Juanita Phelps, and Jeanette (Phelps) Vincent. She is survived by brother, Donald Quiggins of Georgia; sisters, Geneva (Phelps) Stanley of Kentucky, and Frances (Phelps) Bratcher of Tennessee who had just visited Jo Ann in September of 2013.
