"Unplugged" Holiday Show

Carriage Towne News

---- — SOUTH BERWICK, ME - The FPFC Concert Series presents a festive evening of “gospelized” Christmas carols and doo wop and R&B flavored popular holiday songs, all served up “unplugged” with soul-stirring harmonies by The RMS Five.

The show will be held on Sat., December 21, at 6:00 p.m., at First Parish Federated Church, 150 Main St, South Berwick, ME.

For the past eight years, The RMS Five has been quietly putting its mark on the seacoast music scene.

Known for its rich harmonies and unique arrangements of roots, blues, Americana, and gospel songs, the group has gained quite a bit of critical acclaim in New England, appearing on TV shows such as NH Crossroads and 207.

Their shows are so popular that fans had been asking for a Christmas CD for more than five years. Last year, The RMS Five was able to raise enough funding through Kickstarter’s “crowd-sourcing” web site to fulfill their request.

Songs on the CD, which will be performed at the show, range from spirited tunes such as “Sleigh Ride” and “I Pray on Christmas,” to quieter songs such as a Temptations-inspired arrangement of “Silent Night” to a soulful and crowd pleasing version of “O Holy Night.”

Due to the group’s popularity, advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended.

Advance tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased online at www.projectmusicworks.org or by calling 207-450-8746. All tickets at the door will be $12.00. Kids 12 and under are free.
