---- — EXETER - Join Seacoast Artist Association Gallery members in celebrating the signs of spring at a “Featured Artist Reception” actually featuring many artists under one theme on Sat., March 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Gallery at 225 Water Street in Exeter.
It all began with an artist who was dropping off a piece for the January theme show at the Seacoast Artist Association Gallery on a cold and snowy day. What he imagined was warmer, sunnier days; unfortunately, it was too soon to see any signs of spring. Or was it?
“I thought it would be a great idea to have each gallery member contribute one piece on the same idea as the Featured Artist exhibit. Instead of one artist it would be one theme, “Signs of Spring,” said Exeter watercolorist Bill Childs, who is the host of this new exhibit that will run through March.
Feeling the effects of the snow and the cold as well, the exhibiting members of the SAA Gallery responded enthusiastically and now a wall of the gallery pops with the color, warmth and new life of Spring.
Meet many of the exhibiting artists and share their favorite delicacies and beverages at the Saturday reception. Or stop by during regular hours from now through March.
Artists featured in the “Signs of Spring” exhibit are as follows: Bill Childs, Annick Bouvron-Gromek, Lauren Chuslo-Shur, Barbara Clark; Barbara Cowan, Nancy Hubbe, Melissa Weeks of Exeter; Jackie Cunningham of Atkinson; Reid Bunker of Brentwood; Annie Howland of Danville; James Faist of Derry; Jean Schulman of Dover; Helen Hazen of Greenland; Maria Simms, Mary Jane Solomon, Molly Sullivan of Kensington; Annalee Mack, Ben Smith of Lee; Elaine Sylvester of Madbury; Doris Rice of North Hampton; Revelle Taillon; David Saums of Amesbury, Mass.
The exhibit runs through March. Gallery hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Call 778-8856 or e-mail email@example.com. For directions, visit www.seacoastartist.org.
