Bright Nights Tour

SANDOWN — Experience a day of New England charm and fairy-tale fantasies; holiday magic, live entertainment and a light display bigger than any you’ve ever seen when Sandown Recreation heads to Western Massachusetts on Fri., December 6. The cost is $64.00 per person and includes coach bus, sumptuous dinner buffet, live Christmas Cabaret, evening entrance fee to Bright Nights, as well as stops to Kringle Candle in Bernardston and Yankee Candle Village in South Deerfield.

Set the alarm early to depart at 7:15 a.m. from the Ed Garvey Recreation Facility located at 25 Pheasant Run Drive in Sandown. With one additional stop at the Park & Ride in Plaistow, this is sure to make it convenient for anyone who would like to come along.

The two shopping stops include an array of choices where you’ll find everything from hundreds of candle choices to gourmet food, old fashioned candy, home décor, Vera Bradley, jewelry, toys, holiday magic, personalized gift items and so much more. They’ve added an extra special stop to Bright Nights in Springfield, where not only will you be treated to the display of an amazing two million Christmas lights, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner buffet and live Christmas Cabaret. The all-inclusive price covers everything with the exception of bus driver gratuity and lunch. Lunch will be on your own at one of the stops or you may bring along your brown bag lunch to enjoy on the go. Plan to arrive home by approximately 9:00 p.m.

Don’t wait to register, as this is a trip people have been requesting and is sure to fill quickly. Registration is open now for residents and opens for non-residents on Fri., November 8. Payment is by check or money order only payable to Sandown Recreation. Please note there are no refunds for any reason unless the trip was to be cancelled by the Recreation Commission. Please consider your schedule when booking. Payment must accompany your registration. Please call the recreation office at 887-1872 for space availability prior to sending payment. Registration will remain open until full.

  • Successful Car Show/Pig Roast

    The Activities Committee from American Legion Post 51 in Epping donated the proceeds from their Annual Car Show and Pig Roast held on May 17 to the New Hampshire Association for the Blind. The Association is the statewide leader in providing vision rehabilitation services for NH people of all ages who are blind and visually impaired. Junior Vice Commander Rick Pelletier is presenting the $1,400 check to Mary Chase. A big thank you to all who volunteered their time to make the day a success.
