Winter Concert

PORTSMOUTH - Women Singing Out! (WSO) presents “It Takes a Village” in concerts on Sat., January 11, at 7:00 p.m., and Sun., January 12, at 3:00 p.m., at Christ Episcopal Church, 1035 Lafayette Road, Portsmouth.

The concert features a wide variety of musical styles including folk, classical, pop, musical theater and gospel. WSO! explores ways in which community is created, from raising children to forming friendships, working toward social action and simply laughing together.

The chorus is directed by a dynamic Interim Artistic Director, Dr. Rachel Samet. She is a conductor and music educator who has served as an adjudicator for national and local choral festivals. Currently, she teaches choir and music at The Derryfield School, in Manchester.

Women Singing Out! is a diverse group of female voices made up of lesbians and friends of the lesbian community who strive to inspire social change through the power of song.

Tickets are $12.00 - $15.00. and are available at the door, from choral members, or at

  • Successful Car Show/Pig Roast

    The Activities Committee from American Legion Post 51 in Epping donated the proceeds from their Annual Car Show and Pig Roast held on May 17 to the New Hampshire Association for the Blind. The Association is the statewide leader in providing vision rehabilitation services for NH people of all ages who are blind and visually impaired. Junior Vice Commander Rick Pelletier is presenting the $1,400 check to Mary Chase. A big thank you to all who volunteered their time to make the day a success.
