NH Open Doors

Carriage Towne News

---- — CONCORD - On Sat., November 3 and Sun., November 4, people of all ages are invited to get an inside look at New Hampshire’s people, products, and places, during NH Open Doors, a statewide touring and shopping event. Hundreds of New Hampshire artists, craftspeople, cultural organizations, retail shops, wineries, farmstands, restaurants, lodging establishments, and businesses will “open their doors” to public, showcasing the best that New Hampshire has to offer. (See list of regional participants at end of the attached release.)

NH Open Doors provides visitors of all ages with an authentic New Hampshire experience. Visitors can start their holiday shopping (tax free) early and purchase items that are made here in New Hampshire, meet and talk with artists and craftspeople as they work in their studios, sample fresh products from farmstands and orchards, and savor fine cuisine and wine at local restaurants. Participants are holding special activities, including craft demonstrations and workshops, horse-and-buggy rides, food samplings, special menus with local foods, musical performances, and more. There are a variety of hotels, bed-and-breakfast, and other lodging properties and dining options to suit all tastes and budgets.

The tour is self-guided, so visitors create their own driving routes and visit the participants and locations that interest them. To help visitors plan their self-guided tour, the NH Open Doors website – www.NHOpenDoors.com – will feature an interactive map listing participants by region. Each listing will describe what each participant will be offering, and a custom-designed Google map showing the location of each participant with detailed driving directions. The website also features recommended itineraries suggested by NH Open Doors participants that highlight different areas of the state. A printed NH Open Doors map will also be available at all open New Hampshire Welcome Centers and at participant locations.
