DURHAM — What happens when “Sesame Street” meets “South Park?” Find out at the Tony® Award winning smash-hit, “Avenue Q.” This delightful parody that dares to ask the question, “What do you do with a B.A. in English?” is on stage October 31 to November 4, in the UNH Johnson Theatre in Durham.
Winner of the Tony® “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, “Avenue Q” is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. It tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet sexpert), Lucy the Slut (need we say more?) and other colorful types who help Princeton finally discover his purpose in life. But be forwarned: this show may not be appropriate for those under age 17.
Tickets are $15.00 for UNH students, ID holders and seniors, and groups of 15 or more, and $18 for the general public and can be purchased through the new PCAC Ticket Office located in the Johnson Theatre lobby of the Paul Creative Arts Center. This full-service ticket office is open Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and one hour before curtain. Tickets purchased online will incur no additional fees.
