Article 2012-21: Mosquito Control Expendable Trust

Shall the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Forty-eight Thousand Dollars ($48,000) for the purpose of Mosquito Control, such funds to be put into the Mosquito Control Expendable Trust created for that purpose, and to name the Selectmen as agents to expend this money?

Article 2012-22: Repair Police Station

Shall the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Forty-five Thousand Dollars ($45,000) to remove and replace the distribution ductwork, and replace the ceiling tiles and ceiling insulation disturbed during this replacement? This article will lapse at the completion of the project or December 31, 2017, whichever comes first, and is in addition to Article 2012-6, the Operating Budget.

Article 2012-23: New Police Cruiser

Shall the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Thirty Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($30,500) to purchase and outfit a new Police Cruiser, and to take Sixteen Thousand Dollars ($16,000) from the Police Department's Outside Detail Account, adopted for this purpose, leaving Fourteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($14,500) to be raised by taxes, and to allow one of the Town's cruisers to be transferred to the Elderly Affairs Department, all costs of re-lettering the Elderly Affairs' vehicle will be paid for from donations to the Atkinson Police Charitable Fund? This is a Special Article in addition to Article 2012-6, the Operating Budget.

Article 2012-24: Sixth Full-Time Officer

Shall the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Forty-six Thousand Dollars ($46,000) to fund the position for a sixth full-time Police Officer? These funds will be used to pay this officer's salary and benefits from June 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012. This officer's estimated annual salary and benefits for 2013 will be Eighty-Thousand Six Dollars ($80,006), subject to annual funding. This appropriation may be reimbursed by State and Federal funds for which the Town may become eligible through a Federal Grant application. This is a Special Article in addition to Article 2012-6, the Operating Budget.

    LAWRENCE — Marie Rose (Robidoux) Audy, passed away at her home surrounded by her family, after suffering a stroke in April. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Rose A. (Betit) and Alfred Robidoux, originally of Quebec, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Armand Joseph Audy, who passed away on June 28, 1976.

    Bar Harbor, ME — Francis M. Lurvey passed away Sunday, June 22, in Bar Harbor, Maine, after battling cancer. By his side were his sons, Edwin Lurvey and Steven Lurvey and his niece and husband, Debra and Richard Carey, as well as cousin, Marion McDonald. He was the son of Edwin R Lurvey (Bar Harbor) and Delia Amazeen (Dexter). He is survived by five children, a stepson, and their families. His sons, Edwin and wife April, Steven and wife, Pam, David and his daughter, Meghan, as well as his daughters, Lorraine and Ellen and her husband, Paul DiScipio with daughters, Katherine and Julia, and his stepson, Brian Faulkner and wife, Jody with children, Trevor, Rachel, and Keith. He is also survived by his sister, Sheryl, and many nieces and nephews including Frank Lurvey and Elaine Langer. Francis was predeceased by his twin brother, Frank, as well as his brothers, Edwin and Erwin. He was also predeceased by his longtime companion, Brian and Edwin’s mother, Maureen Faulkner and former wife, Roberta Lurvey Gilmore.
