Rockingham Quiz Bowl Winners

— For the third consecutive year, the Rockingham County Quiz Bowl team was undefeated and won the NH 4-H Horse Quiz Bowl Contest. Team members include Michaela Kirby of Brentwood, Courtney Schrempf of Fremont, and Kelsey Escobar and Maggie Kenter of Kingston. Kenter placed fifth in Individual and Kirby was 8th place Individual. Both girls are now eligible to practice and try for a spot on the team representing NH at the Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup. Sarah Cote of Lawrence, MA, and junior team member Jackie Johnson of Brentwood, teamed with youth from other counties and placed in the top six. In Rockingham County, more than 1,000 4-H members and 200 adult volunteers and student interns are involved in 4-H through local clubs, afterschool programs, state, and national events.     Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

  • Ted "Teddy" Bolduc

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
